The wave longest left in the world
Surfing Puerto Chicama and around
The left wave hitting Puerto chicama, is considered as the longest left in the world. It breaks on three main sections covering a bit more than 3 km or 2 miles.
The water temperature is between 15 and 19 C° (60°/69 F°) all year.. You might enjoy a 4.3 wetsuit in deep winter, but you still can surf all year round with a 3.2 wetsuit.
The wave has a pretty easy acces for begginners, except during big days.
Puerto Chicama is located 50 km up north of Trujillo, which is the third town of Peru, and about 600 km south of the Equatorian border.
Around Trujillo you can visit some archeological sites and museums.
Two of those is "Chan Chan", and " la Huaca del sol y de la Luna", both are classified by UNESCO. Inside Trujillo you can tour a lot of colonial architecture buildings, and visit some good bars and restaurants…
